Soft Grey

My little desk nook all decked out in soft grey... a new sweater, my trusted hobo bag and lots of new books.

Office Accessories: 99 cent find

You have to love going to thrift stores and finding little treasures. Here is my latest find, a black and clear glass jar with lid, and I think it is just too cute for words. You can house office supplies like erasers, paper clips or like me push pins for my corkboard inspiration and idea board.

Stay tuned to see what else I found on my visit plus more backyard and deck updates...

Teal

I have a few more pictures of my sis' room or more correctly her desk nook. We added some Ikea shelves, a Bombay desk, some vintage and antique accessories and lots of books. The corkboard is from Ikea as well. It was just plain so I printed out a picture that Stefanie over at Brooklyn Limestone put up on her site for free download and thought it would look cute on top of the cork; then I also trimmed the inner edges with some chocolate grosgrain ribbon... I love how it turned out. The room still needs a few personal touches, it's not quite done but I wanted to share what it looks like so far. Enjoy!

This post is brought to you by the letter E

I know I blogged a while back about dollar stores and how much I love them! Well while I have been busy at work on the backyard...trust me the pics will be worth it, it's really coming along! I digress...back to the Dollarama, I found a wood letter "E" for my full name Elizabeth which I thought if painted black would look just darling in my room, either on my dresser in front of my mirror or over by my desk nook...where do you think it looks best?

Updates

I made some minor updates to my office nook via artwork, I added a new Etsy print above the desk. I also added a new framed picture on the desk, both are in my signature room colour black and white. I also updated another little nook in the other corner of my room known to me as the "reading nook". I painted and reupholstered my antique chair got a great chandelier satin pillow from Home Sense and topped it off with a bunch of framed artwork...the kicker is that the pictures are homemade, as in, I took them on my recent trip to Paris and Italy. Why pay for art right?

Desk Nook

Who doesn't love a little nookie...okay now get your minds out of the gutter! I meant a nook, as in a small area devoted to moi, designed with all the things I love, a la fabulous! I was finished upholstering my new chair, and I couldn't find a place for it, so what so you do when you have a fabulous chair dressed in stunning trellis fabric you ask? why you find a space for it! and that is how my little desk nook came to be.
